Use AI to practice a prospect conversation
Use an agency-approved AI tool to roleplay a fictional prospect, respond one message at a time, and critique the conversation with quotes. An experienced agent should review the feedback.

Practice before the call.
Before your next prospect call, try a short rehearsal with AI. The goal is to practice listening and asking useful questions. This is a fictional demonstration, not a real customer conversation or a live AI test. Here is the setup, the conversation, and the part you should check yourself.
Set the boundaries.
Open a new chat in your agency-approved AI tool. Paste a roleplay prompt. Tell it to play a fictional business owner shopping on price, respond one message at a time, and wait for your questions. Ask for feedback after six exchanges, with quotes from your exact words. Keep real client information out. Tell it not to invent policy terms, savings, or coverage recommendations.
Ask before you pitch.
The fictional prospect says: I just want a lower price. A useful opening is: What prompted you to shop now? In our example, the owner says the business has grown, but they are unsure whether the current arrangement still fits. That gives you something to explore. Ask: What has changed in the business? Practice the conversation without promising a price or a coverage outcome.
Follow the concern.
In this example, the owner also says it is hard to get answers from the current agency. Try: When you need help, what does a good response look like to you? Let the roleplay answer before moving on. Then practice a next step, such as: Would it be useful to set a time to discuss your priorities? The point is to listen before offering a solution.
Check the critique.
After six exchanges, ask for the critique. Here is an illustrative mistake: the AI says you ignored service concerns. But your actual question asked what a good response looks like. Point out that evidence and ask it to revise its feedback. Have an experienced agent review it too. AI feedback can be wrong, and a simulated prospect does not predict a real customer.
Try one rehearsal.
Start with one opening conversation. If you already use AI, try a busy or hesitant fictional prospect. For team training, save approved scenarios with a simple review checklist. You will find the full starter prompt in AI for P and C Insurance Agents. Try it, then share which question you would improve. Leave client details out.
How to try it
Set up a fictional scenario
Start a new chat. Use a made-up business owner shopping on price. Keep real names, account details, policy identifiers, and confidential information out.
Ask before you pitch
When the prospect says “I just want a lower price,” try “What prompted you to shop now?” Follow the answer with a question about what has changed.
Practice a next step
Clarify the concern before offering a solution. Practice inviting a discussion of priorities without promising savings or a coverage outcome.
Check the critique
Ask for quotes from your exact words. If AI says you ignored service but you asked about response expectations, point out that evidence and request a revision.
Copy the starter prompt
Play a fictional local business owner who says, “I’m just looking for a lower price.” Respond one message at a time. Give me room to ask questions. After six exchanges, identify where I made assumptions, talked past your concern, or missed a useful follow-up question. Quote my exact words. Don’t invent policy terms, savings, or coverage recommendations.
What to review
AI feedback can be wrong. A simulated prospect does not predict a real customer. Have an experienced agent review the critique.
Adjust for your experience
- Novice: practice one opening conversation.
- Casual user: repeat with a busy or hesitant fictional prospect.
- Power user: save approved scenarios with a shared conversation review checklist.
